Preview part 4: Group D |
The last group we will look on is by far the hardest one. The Hluboka Cardinals who play in the Czech Extra League will be challenged by the Swiss National Team and the Hellevoet Athletics. The Swiss National Team uses Finkstonball as a preparation for the European Championship Qualifier. The Hellevoet Athletics from the Netherlands did not participate in the last two years, but will be back this year to play another strong tournament.
Our series of previews will end here but keep on checking finkstonball.com for more updates during the weekend. |

Preview part 3: Group C |
This time we will look at group C. This group features one time winner BK Vindija, who are playing for the seventh time at Finkstonball. In their last participation they finished on second place and are looking for another win this time. The Finkstonball Selection team is filling in for BSD Jezica from Slovenia who had to cancel their participation in the last minute. This team is going to be a big question mark because nobody knows what to expect from this team. The very motivated Rosenheim 89ers complete this group. This team also signed Kufstein legend Werner Harasser for this tournament. |

Preview part 2: Group B |
We continue our group preview with the teams of Group B. Here we have our very good friends from Switzerland participating in their thirteenth tournament. The team which is probably one of the most successful teams in Finkstonball history (they made it to the finals in six out of twelve previous tries) will try to win their second title after 2004. The other two teams in this group will play the first game of the tournament on Saturday: the newcomers from Northern Ireland, the Belfast Northstars and the Bad Homburg Hornets, who made it to the finals in every tournament but last year. They are certainly looking for a better result than last years fifth place.
Our previews will continue tomorrow with Group C and D. |

Preview part 1: Group A |
Prior the tournament we want to take a quick look at all of our groups to give you an overview about what to expect. This year we have twelve teams again, which play in four groups. The winner of each group gets to play in the semi-finals.
Group A offers a good look over the vast variety of nations that play Baseball. Last years Finkstonball champion the Attnang-Puchheim Athletics will be hosting two newcomer nations: they will play their first preliminary round game on Saturday against the Oslo Pretenders from Norway and then after the opening ceremony they will battle the Saint-Petersburg North Stars (Russia) for whoever gets into the semi-finals. |
